Garbage

Garbage day is THURSDAY.  

Please have your household garbage at curbside by 8:00 a.m. The limit is two (2) bags per household per week.

Recycling

Recyclables must be placed in see-through plastic bags and placed by the roadside Cardboard must be bagged or tied in 2' x 2' bundles. A separate bag must be used for each of the five following categories of recyclables: METAL, GLASS, NEWSPAPERS, CARDBOARD AND BOXBOARD AND PLASTIC (milk jugs only).

Commercial properties are reminded that the bins for your use are located in a fenced area on Poplar Street (behind the Works Yard). To gain access you must obtain the key from the Village Office. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to noon , and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. , Monday to Friday (except statutory holidays).

Composting

Residential Garden Waste can be dropped off at the Green Waste drop off area located at the corner of Poplar Street and Miami River Drive, and is open from 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm Monday to Friday and 9:00 am to 11:00am weekends and holidays, and closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.We encourage mulching of grass to limit the amount of grass clippings in this area and to reduce over watering of lawns.

The public is reminded that the burning of garden and yard waste is not permitted. If you have any questions, please contact the Public Works Department at 604-796-2171, Ext. 230.
