The Village of Harrison Hot Springs is seeking a Labourer 1 with the Utilities Department.

Under the direct supervision of the Utilities Supervisor the labourer in this position shall be responsible for:

  • Assisting the Utilities Supervisor with tasks and projects
  • Assisting the Utilities Supervisor with maintenance and other daily operations
  • A variety of manual tasks and duties 
  • The use of small tools and equipment
  • Assisting Public Works as required
Required Qualifications
  • Must be physically fit and comfortable working outside in any weather conditions
  • Minimum Grade 12 education and minimum 6 months related experience
  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Able to operate chain saws, weed eaters, light trucks, jack hammers, saws, compactors and other related tools and equipment
  • Promotes safety in the workplace
  • Good interpersonal skills in order to establish and maintain and respectful working relationship with other members of staff
  • Polite, tactful and courteous while dealing with the public
  • Preference will be given to candidates with mechanical aptitude and water/wastewater experience
  • EOCP Certification is an asset
Wage Rate:

Current wage rate is $29.16 (2021) plus 10.6% cash in lieu of benefits

Work Terms and Hours of Work:

Hours of work will consist of 37.5 hours per week with occasional overtime, as required.  Shifts will be any 5 of 7 and may include weekends.
