  • BC Transit presented the BC Transit Fare Review Update for the Agassiz-Harrison and Hope transit system. 

  • Council will send a letter to the Minister of Transportation regarding funding for the BC Transit route from Agassiz to Mission and will be requesting a meeting with the Minister at UBCM. 

  • Three liquor licence amendment applications were presented to Council for Milos Greek Taverna, the Black Forest Restaurant and the Islands Bar at the Harrison Hot Springs Resort. The public will have the opportunity to submit comments on these applications; please watch our website and notice boards for more information. 

  • Council Correspondence Policy 1.41, which establishes protocols for handling external correspondence addressed to Council, was adopted.

  • The draft Anti-Racial and Anti-Discrimination Policy 1.42 will be forwarded to a future Committee of the Whole meeting for further review. 

  • Council voted in favour of including geese management strategies as a budgetary item in the 2026 financial plan. In the meantime, please keep in mind that feeding the geese is prohibited.

Community Happenings:

  • The Village is participating in the Agassiz-Harrison Food Bank Challenge! The Village Office is accepting non-perishable donations. Last year we collected 147+ items for donation – can we #meetthechallenge for 2025? 

  • The Terry Fox Run returns to Harrison Hot Springs on Sunday, September 14, 2025! Register here: https://run.terryfox.ca/93069 

  • A beach clean-up day, hosted by the Communities in Bloom Committee, will be held on May 26 for participating Harrison Elementary students! 

  • A Community Planting Day will be held on Tuesday, June 3 at 9:30 a.m., hosted by the Communities in Bloom Committee. Join the committee as we plant new garden beds! More info can be found here.
