  • The Village will be sending a letter to the Minister of Finance in support of the Fraser Valley Regional District’s correspondence regarding: Urgent Request to Postpone Pipeline Valuation Changes for 2026 Assessment Roll. 
  • Recommendations from previous closed Council meetings (February 16, 2024 and November 6, 2025 respectively) were released for information including:

    • THAT Council provide a letter in support of the dike upgrade project to Legacy Environmental Ltd. And authorize them to apply for a land tenure from the Province on the Village’s behalf; and
       
    • THAT staff be authorized to create a new unionized position for a temporary, year-round, part-time bylaw enforcement position and a seasonal bylaw enforcement position; and
       
    • THAT the positions be created at the CUPE 458 Collective Agreement pay grade 6 and 7. 

     

  • Updates to Purchasing & Procurement Policy 1.08 were approved. This policy was last updated in 2020 and updates included modernizing policy language, revising purchasing limits, and new language surrounding Canadian suppliers.
  • The Planning Consultant presented a report on the review of proposed Bill M 216- 2025. Council will be writing letters to the Premier, the Minister of Municipal Affairs, MLA Tony Luck, and UBCM outlining their opposition to proposed Bill M 216 – 2025.
  • Zoning Amendment Bylaw No.1230, 2025 was deferred to an upcoming Council meeting for further discussion.
  • Council rescinded second reading of Business Licence and Regulation Amendment Bylaw No.1231, 2025 and referred the bylaw to an upcoming Committee of the Whole meeting.
  • Sewer Regulation Amendment Bylaw No. 1233, 2025 and Water Regulation Amendment Bylaw No. 1234, 2025 were given first three readings with proposed fee amendments.

  • The Starlight Skating Rink is now open for self skate – bring your own skates and enjoy skating under the stars! Skate rentals and concession operations begin November 22. See here for more information on skate schedules and operating hours.
