Committee of the Whole Highlights - August 17, 2026
- The Water and Waste Water Treatment Plant Master Plans were adopted. These plans will help inform future grant applications and annual budgets. The Village will be working on five year capital and user revenue plans to address the recommendations in these plans. Council also requested a background report on the factors that led to the construction of the current Waste Water Treatment Plant as opposed to connecting with the District of Kent, and an assessment as to whether those factors are still applicable today.
- Council received information on Amenity Cost Charges. These charges are a development finance tool that allow local governments to collect funds for certain amenities such as community or recreation centres, daycares, park acquisition or protective services capital projects. Council opted to defer a decision on this topic for the incoming Council to address in the fall during its strategic planning.
- Council discussed forestry activities in the area and will request that impacts from local forestry operations be added to the next Let’semot C2C meeting.
