PRESS RELEASE – Village of Harrison Hot Springs Receives Canadian Award for Financial Reporting

for Immediate Release

March 20, 2026

The Village of Harrison Hot Springs is proud to announce that it has been awarded the Canadian Award for Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its annual financial report for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2024.

The Canadian Award for Financial Reporting Program was established to encourage municipal governments across Canada to publish high-quality financial reports, while also providing peer recognition and technical guidance for officials preparing these reports. Achieving this award represents a significant accomplishment for the Village and its management team.

The Village’s annual financial report was evaluated by impartial Canadian Review Committee members and was found to meet the program’s high standards. The report demonstrates a constructive “spirit of full disclosure,” clearly communicates the municipality’s financial story, and motivates potential users and stakeholder groups to engage with the report.

The GFOA advances excellence in government finance by providing best practices, professional development, resources, and practical research to more than 21,000 members and the communities they serve. Village Council congratulates Chief Financial Officer Scott Schultz and his team for this outstanding achievement.
