-The Village will be sending a letter of support for the Agassiz Museum’s application for a grant to assist in cataloguing and storing their collection of oversized historic documents, artworks and prints. 

-The Parks and Trails Master Plan was adopted – this strategic document will guide the future enhancement, management and development of parks and trails in the community. Thanks to everyone who provided their feedback throughout the engagement process. View the Master Plan here

-The 2026 Deputy Mayor rotation will be as follows:

    -January - April: Councillor Facio

    -May - August: Councillor Vidal

    -September - November: Councillor Schweinbenz

-The Starlight Skating Rink operations for the 2025-2026 winter season will be managed by Harrison Eco Tours – stay tuned for opening dates! 

-The application to rezone 856 Hot Springs Road from Residential-2 to Commercial-2 was not approved. 

-The application for a Development Variance Permit at 889 Hot Springs Road was removed from the agenda due to an error in the proposed Site Plan. An amended report will appear on a future agenda. 

-Council is planning a meeting later this year to be held in Harrison Hot Springs with several agenda items relating to strategic priorities for the upcoming year – keep an eye on our website and notice boards for more details.  

Community Happenings

-Thank you to all who participated in the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day hosted by the Environmental Advisory Committee! Missed the event? Check out www.productcare.org to find out where you can recycle your items year-round!  

-The Lights by the Lake kickoff event returns on November 22 – stay tuned for more information on this exciting annual winter event and more!

-Join us for a spooktacular Community Movie Night to support the Agassiz-Harrison Food Bank - crafts, treats, and a screening of the original Hocus Pocus! Come dressed in your costumes, bring a comfy chair, and enjoy a fun night out with family and friends. Concession will be available by cash donation – including pizza. This is an age-friendly initiative open to all ages - we hope to see you there!
