General local elections are held every four (4) years on the third Saturday in October for the election of:
One (1) Mayor
Four (4) Councillors
Three (3) Agassiz-Harrison School Trustees
If you live within the Village of Harrison Hot Springs municipal boundaries, you are a resident elector. If you own property within the Village of Harrison Hot Springs but live outside the municipal boundaries, you are a non-resident elector. What to bring:
Qualified electors are required to provide two pieces of identification to prove both identity and residency. At least one piece must include your signature.
Acceptable identification includes:
- BC Driver’s Licence
- Identification Card issued by the Government of BC or Canada
- Photo BC Services Card
- Non-photo BC Services Card
- Document issued by the Government of Canada confirming registration under the Indian Act
- Citizenship Card issued by Métis Nation British Columbia
- Vehicle insurance papers
- BC Care Card
- Provincial Social Assistance FORM SDES8
- Social Insurance Number
- Citizenship Card issued by Citizenship and Immigration Canada
- Property Tax Notice
- Credit or debit card
- Utility bill, such as electricity, gas, telephone, water, public utilities or cable service
Don't have two pieces of identification? You may provide at least two documents showing evidence of your identity, with at least one containing your signature, and make a solemn declaration confirming your place of residence.
Please note: A combined BC Driver’s Licence and BC Services Card counts as one piece of identification.
