  • Representatives from the Agassiz-Harrison Food Coalition presented on local food security and the programs and services of Earthwise Society. For more information on food security, food sovereignty, and the Agassiz-Harrison Food Coalition visit: https://earthwisesociety.bc.ca/food-security/ 

  • Kelly Phipps presented on environmental stewardship in Harrison Hot Springs, providing information on the ecosystem in the East Sector area. 

  • Councillor Vidal will be connecting with the UBCM Executive Small Community Representative. 

  • A letter of support for the BC Coastal Marine Strategy (CMS) will be sent to Premier David Eby and the Honourable Randene Neill, Minister of Water, Land and Resource Stewardship. 

  • Lillooet Avenue West Streetscape Enhancements coming soon! The drawings will be finalized, and the Village will be issuing a Request for Proposals. The design features new plantings, rain gardens, seating, and formalized parking stalls. Thanks to everyone who provided their input during the engagement process.   • Pay Parking: Council asked staff to research and come back at a future Committee of the Whole meeting with information on a pay parking model that keeps the current season in effect, addresses previous direction regarding EV charging stalls, and explores options for rates, boat launch parking, resident parking passes and what programs and services pay parking revenues will fund. A survey to collect community feedback will be launching soon – stay tuned! 

  • A bylaw to include health care professionals/health care service providers in the Inter-Municipal Business Licence program was given first three readings. 

  • Two bylaws were adopted: 

    • Sewer Regulation and Fee Amendment Bylaw No. 1233, 2025 

    • Water Regulation and Fee Amendment Bylaw No. 1234, 2025 

  • Business Licence and Regulation Amendment Bylaw No. 1232, 2025 was given third reading. 
     

Community Happenings 

  • The Agassiz-Harrison Community Services Winter Bells Campaign is underway! Every dollar raised supports services for children, youth, families, and seniors in our community.  

  • The Lights by the Lake festivities continue with Festive Nights! On December 6 and 20, from 5pm-8pm, take photos with Santa and Sasquatch, enjoy free hot chocolate, live music, and Christmas Storytime! Learn more here

  • The Annual Holiday Lighting Contest is back! This year’s contest includes a self-guided Holiday Light Tour, and every entrant will be entered to win a $100 gift card to a local business of their choice. Winner will be announced December 22nd. 
    All participating displays will be added to the Holiday Light Map available at the Village Office and on our website. Visit https://tinyurl.com/zz583khr to add your holiday lights and enter to win, no registration needed – just fill out a short form with your address so we know where to find the best lights in town! Open to residential and business properties located within the Village of Harrison Hot Springs!
  • Building Belonging starts now! The Village is launching a new community project to help make everyday interactions with the Village clearer, fairer, and more welcoming for everyone who lives in, works in, or visits Harrison Hot Springs. Over the next few months, we’ll be co-creating an I.D.E.A. (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Accessibility) Framework and Action Plan that reflects our Village’s unique context and the voices of our community.
