  • Two items were removed from the agenda for future discussion: item 15 (e) – the Development Permit and Development Variance Permit application for 889 Hot Springs Road and item 16(c) – Fire Services Bylaw No. 1236, 2026.
  • Supt. Darren Pankratz and Insp. Mike Greenway of the Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment and S/Sgt. Darryl Peppler of the Agassiz RCMP presented on the RCMP 2025 Annual Report including highlights and statistics from the past year.  
  • A letter of support will be sent to the District of Hope to support their call to open a home-building carpenter course at the UFV campus in Hope.
  • A motion was passed to waive the Memorial Hall fees for the upcoming Follow Your Heart Concert and Silent Auction, which supports Variety the Children’s Charity, to be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026. Learn more here.
  • Last week, the Village announced its intent to collaborate with School District 78 on the potential construction of a new, modern elementary school and repurposing the existing school site into a multi-use civic area. The purpose of the project is to create a shared Civic Campus that will improve safety, strengthen community connections, and make efficient use of public land.   • The 2025 Annual Report for Bylaw Enforcement Services was received for information. The recommendations outlined in the report will be referred to a future Committee of the Whole. Objectives for 2026 include continued public education and communication, proactive enforcement, improving the pay parking experience, and working with community partners for increased public safety.   • The Lillooet West Streetscape Enhancements project was awarded to Element Excavating Ltd with a budget of $850,000 be included in the 2026 Financial Plan. This project has an anticipated February start date to ensure substantial completion prior to summer 2026. Learn more about the project here.
  • Five wildlife resistant waste bins will be purchased to replace wire mesh waste bins in priority areas including McCombs Drive, Woods Park, and Spring Park. These waste bins will be included in the 2026 Financial Plan.
  • Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 1237, 2026 was given first two readings. This amendment bylaw would allow for the rezoning of the property located at 469 Naismith Avenue from R1 to R2. A Notice of Public Hearing Prohibited will be posted pursuant to section 464(3) of the Local Government Act.
  • Council accepted an Amenity Cost Charges Bylaw framework, which will be used to inform the future development of the bylaw. 
  • Two Notices of Motion will be on the next agenda under new business, for Council to consider endorsing and forwarding to the LMLGA:

    • A call on the province to pursue modern treaties with Indigenous peoples and include local governments as appropriate. 

    • A call on the province to establish a funding stream to help small local governments meet their obligations under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act
